Ambassador Tadamichi Yamamoto, Vice President of the Global Peacebuilding Association of Japan (GPAJ) received the Order of the Sacred Treasure, Gold Rays with Rosette in 2024 as “an individual who has been prominently active on the international stage as a Japanese diplomat (ambassador).” This year, 2025, GPAJ President Sukehiro Hasegawa will be awarded the same honor. According to GPAJ Director Ken Inoue, while Ambassador Yamamoto was recognized for his “outstanding achievements and accomplishments in the diplomatic field” as Japan’s ambassador, President Hasegawa’s award of the Order of the Sacred Treasure, Gold Rays with Rosette as former Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General and Resident Representative of UNDP is interpreted as honoring his “long-standing service and continuous contributions to international public and UN organizations.” (5/11/2025)
