Upon arrival in Tokyo on August 22, 2025, President Ramos-Horta of East Timor (Nobel Peace Prize laureate) held talks with Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba, and exchanged views with bipartisan Diet members. He also delivered lectures at the University of Tokyo, the United Nations University, and the Osaka Expo, explaining how Japan can demonstrate leadership in the chaotic international community to build a peaceful and stable global society.
