GPAJ President Hasegawa Publishes in VOICE November Issue — Japan’s Leadership and the Path Toward Sustainable Global Peace (09/10/2025)

My name is Masakuni Tanimoto, and I serve as Secretary-General of the Global Peacebuilding Association of Japan (GPAJ).
I am pleased to share that our President, Professor Sukehiro Hasegawa, has contributed an article titled “Building a Framework for Sustainable International Peace” to the November 2025 issue of the monthly magazine VOICE.

In this article, President Hasegawa provides an in-depth analysis of how Japan can exercise confident and constructive leadership in an increasingly fragmented and complex world order. Drawing on his extensive international experience, he discusses concrete approaches to building a sustainable framework for global peace.

This topic resonates closely with discussions held earlier this summer when H.E. José Ramos-Horta, President of Timor-Leste, visited Japan and met with members of the National Diet.
During that meeting, President Ramos-Horta expressed his strong expectations for Japan to play a constructive and peaceful leadership role in the international community, emphasizing Japan’s potential as a bridge between Asia and the wider world. President Hasegawa’s article builds on these discussions, outlining how Japan, as a peace-oriented nation, can chart its course in the evolving global landscape.

At GPAJ, we remain committed to supporting Japan’s intellectual and diplomatic leadership in peacebuilding, adapting our activities to the changing realities of the international community.
President Hasegawa’s latest contribution serves as an important guidepost for our shared mission, and I warmly encourage all members to read the full article.
