In the wake of the Humanitarian Summit in 2016, the United Nations and others have argued that there is a need to cooperate for “sustaining peace” in addition to the “nexus of humanitarianism and development” which has been discussed before. This is called Triple Nexus of “humanitarianism-development- peace.” The background of this argument is that the international community has not been able to respond effectively to the current conflict, the resulting refugees, internally displaced people, and post-conflict development issues. There is prevailing awareness of what measures the international community has taken in response to such issues. Focusing on the progress made in discussing Triple Nexus since 2016, we will discuss the way in which the international community is involved in peace and development.
